SUPER STREETS

COMPETING MODELS:

·          Any 1960 to present American made production car with 101" Min wheelbase.

·          No station wagons, convertibles, four wheel drive or front wheel drive cars.

·          Tubular chassis allowed with stock front clip from firewall forward. Tubing MUST be minimum of 10 inch circumference .120 wall thickness (example 2 ½  x 2 ½  or 2 X 3)

·          Max engine set back ---#1 spark plug must be no further back than center of upper ball joint.

BODIES:

·          Cars must be neat in appearance. Bodies may be cut and trimmed for clearances only. After market bodies allowed: must be stock appearing no dirt late model bodies. Aftermarket bodies must run front and rear bumper covers (stock appearing) NO wedge latemodel bodies NO open tails

·          Pin fasteners required in all corners not attached with a hinge.

·          Bumpers must remain in stock location; may be home-made, but not excessive.

·          Front and rear tow chains required.

·          No trailer hitches.

·          Battery must be securely mounted in an approved case with cover if in driver's compartment.

·          Rub rails 2" square MAX tight to body between front and rear tires. No sharp edges.

·          Any added weight must be securely mounted.

SUSPENSIONS:

·          All suspension components must remain stock and in stock location unless specified here.

·          Racing springs allowed. 5 inch minimum diameter.

·          Lower A-arms must be stock. Upper may be racing style.

·          Must have four shocks. No coil overs or adjustable valving allowed.

·          Rear suspension-- stock, or leaf spring, or any 3 or 4 link setup constructed of solid radius rods and heim joints.  NO torque arms, NO bird cages, NO coil overs.

·          Two FUNCTIONAL jacking bolts allowed. Adjustable shackles and ajustable spring spacers will be considered jacking bolts.

·          NO FABRICATED or TUBULAR SPINDLES.

·          NO WIDE FIVE HUBS, NO ALUMINUM HUBS.

·          NO AFTER MARKET ALUMINUM BRAKE CALIPERS.

WHEELS AND TIRES:

·          Stock steel or after market steel allowed. Bead locks allowed.  1" lug nuts mandatory- on all wheels

·          D.O.T. tires only. No racing retreads, casings or compounds allowed. NO D.O.T. compounds NO Hoosier/American Racer etc.  Max tread width 8"  No studded tires. Summer or snow tires - no overly aggressive tread. Check with tech to confirm legality of tires.

DRIVE TRAINS:

·          Automatic transmissions must have a working torque converter.

·          Standard transmissions must use stock steel clutch / flywheel assemblies and must have shatter-proof bell housing or equivalent.

·          9" Ford rear end allowed, Full Floater 9" allowed, NO ALUMINUM REARS / TUBES / HUBS / or WIDE FIVE HUBS Floaters must add 50 lbs of weight to right side frame rail in front of centerline of wheelbase.

·          Stock steel drive shaft painted white with a minimum of one (1) 1/8" X 2" strap or chain in front.

ENGINE:

·          CHEVY 350, FORD 351, CHRYSLER 360. Max bore .060 over.

·          No aluminum, after market or big blocks.

·          Stock OEM steel or cast iron crankshafts. Must match block used. No light weight cranks Must be Stock or stock replacement type.

·          Rods: no aluminum, titanium or light-weight after market allowed.

·          Flat top pistons only

·          GM crate motor part #88958602 as manufactured with no alterations allowed.

·          No roller cams. Maximum lift .480 at valve.

·          4 INTO 1 COLECTOR HEADERS ALLOWED Street type headers or STANDARD STYLE CROSSOVER HEADERS allowed, ( RIGHT 4 PIPES must go into 1 collector LEFT 4 PIPES must go into the other collector ) NO 180 headers NO MERGE COLLECTORS, NO TRI Y HEADERS, NO BALANCE TUBES OR H PIPES.  

·          No dry sump systems Oil pump must be in stock location

·          2 INTAKE BOLTS as close together as possible TO BE DRILLED TO ACCEPT LEGION SPEEDWAY TECH SEALS

INTAKE MANIFOLD:

·          Must Run Edelbrock performer - part numbers: GM # 2101 (up to 1987), Gm # 2104 (1987-1995), Gm # 2116 (1996-present); Ford 302 #2121, Ford 351 # 2181 Mopar # 2176 NO MODIFICATIONS ALLOWED

·          Stock Holley 500 CFM 2 barrel #0- 4412 or #0-80583-1. Must pass gauge inspection. Removal of choke plate required

·          Maximum 1" adapter plate must be used SUMMIT RACING ADAPTOR PT# SUM-G1406 or SUM-G1407 $49.95 or Canton racing # 85-060 $50.00 ( from TC RACE CARS)  or equivalent No stacking gaskets.

·          No electric fuel pumps. (EXCEPTION)- Engine blocks not machined for mechanical pump may run electric pump, must not exceed 10 psi, if equipped with a pressure regulator, regulator must not be in reach of driver. SHUT OFF SWITCH MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED.

HEADS:

·          2009  COMPRESSION LIMITED TO Max 10.5 TO 1 Legion Speedway Whistler gauge will be final on compression 10.0 TO 1 recommended.

·           For 2008 season only Cars with over 10.5 To 1 compression will be issued a restrictor plate YOU  MUST MEET 10.5  to 1 max for 2009 season.

·          Cast iron heads only. No angle plug GM  heads No after market racing bowtie or aluminum allowed, except the following World Product part numbers: GM #043600, 043610, Ford # 053030

·          Ford must use equivalent to Chevrolet head.

·          No porting, polishing, or gasket matching.

·          Maximum valve size 1.94 intake. 1.60 exhaust.

·          Screw-in studs and guide plates allowed.

·          Roller rockers or roller tip rockers allowed.

IGNITIONS:

·          DISTRIBUTER IGNITIONS ONLY, NO CRANK TRIGGER IGNITION. No magnetos.

 ROLL CAGE:

·          Round steel 1.500" X .095" tubing minimum for rear upright-driver's door bars-halo bar-front uprights.

·          One bar at dash height tying two (2) uprights together. One bar behind driver tying two (2) uprights together.

·          Piping allowed in front of radiator but behind bumper, not attached to bumper. All cages must meet or exceed these specifications.

FUEL CELL:

·          Fuel cell must be in a steel container with a roll over safety check valve in vent line.

Any fuel lines running through the driver's compartment must be in steel conduit, BX or Sealtite
